Message to Our Members – May 2026

(2 Minute Read) — As the weather warms, I’m looking forward to spending more time exploring and supporting small businesses in our communities.  

May is Small Business Month, a time to recognize the important role small businesses play in our economy and communities. In Oregon and Washington, small businesses represent 99% of all businesses – including Unitus Community Credit Union. 

Here at Unitus, supporting small businesses is a priority. We offer a comprehensive range of services, including business checking and savings, payroll, merchant services, and lending, all designed to help businesses operate and grow with confidence. 

Our #PDXunites series is one way we celebrate local businesses. In partnership with Small Shops Big Hearts, we feature weekly #PDXunites giveaways on social media, highlighting and supporting a variety of local small businesses throughout our community. 

We also offer small business lending of up to $100,000, with a streamlined application process, competitive rates, no prepayment penalties, and quick processing times. This makes it easier for business owners to access the financing they need to move forward. 

Unitus is pledging $5 million in small business loans as part of our three-year social responsibility commitments.
