To return something you bought in-store with Google Pay you will need your store receipt, just like you would for any other purchase. If the merchant asks you to swipe your card, you can credit the card you used to pay within the Google Pay app by selecting the same card and holding your device to the contactless payment terminal.
Depending on the return and refund policies of the store, it may take several days for the return transaction to appear on your Unitus Visa card statement. We recommend keeping your receipt until the return posts to your account.

If you make an Google Pay purchase with your card, the merchant may request authorization for an initial amount and send us the actual transaction amount later for payment. The initial authorized amount appears in your Google Pay transaction history, but the actual transaction amount is deducted from your account.
This happens frequently in places where:
- You can add a tip (restaurants, salons)
- There can be a significant difference between the amount that’s authorized initially and the actual transaction amount (hotels, car rental agencies)
For most card purchases, we receive the payment request, including the actual transaction amount, within 3 business days of the transaction.
