With Samsung Pay, either NFC or MST technology can be used to make contactless transactions. The key difference is that NFC requires an NFC-enabled card reader (newer technology available at fewer U.S. retailers) whereas MST works with many more types of card readers. Because Samsung Pay incorporates both NFC and MST technologies, it works almost anywhere you can swipe or tap your card.

Contacted by a merchant, or paid during a time that a major retailer announced a security breach? Peace of mind is a phone call away – you can always check with Unitus to find out which method you used to pay, digital or traditional. Please call 1.800.452.0900, opt. 1, Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM. Rest assured, when you pay using digital payments, your card info is not stored or transferred to the merchant so your Unitus card data is protected. Just delete your card from your payment app. Then, add the card back to the payment app as if you were doing it for the first time.
