Our Credit Union Earns the Corporate Philanthropy Award (Plus, the 2020 Scholarships Deadline!)

Earlier this month, our credit union received the Portland Business Journal’s 2019 Corporate Philanthropy Award.

What is the award?

This award recognizes local companies for providing exceptional community service to the greater Portland community. We are excited to announce that we placed #9 in the Large Company category.

Why did we win?

Last year, Unitus gifted $214,000 to charitable nonprofit organizations based in Oregon and Southwest Washington. What’s more, our employees volunteered more than 2,860 hours with more than 80 local organizations and nonprofits.

We could not have done this without our members and our staff. It is a great honor to share this recognition with you.

Heading to college, you’ll need to pack a lot of things. One of the most important? Money!

To assist with rising higher education costs, Unitus will award $10,000 in scholarships to student members next year.

Who is eligible?

High school seniors or current postsecondary undergraduates who are members of our credit union (you can be a primary or joint member).

What are the selection criteria?

Applicants are chosen based on their overall academic performance, demonstrated leadership in school and community activities, work experience, and statement of goals and aspirations.

Statement of unusual personal or family circumstances will be considered.

What is the application deadline?

Submit your application by February 26, 2020 to be eligible.
